My father was a Cub and Boy Scout leader and our family was very involved in scouting and enjoyed camping. I feel that this contact with nature had a strong influence on my developing creativity. I attended public schools and in 1958 received my AA Degree from Los Angeles City College.
After College, I married and moved to the San Fernando Valley where I created four of my most imaginative works of art, my children. As my children grew older and became more self-sufficient, I was able to explore my own creativity in an even deeper way by taking art classes at Los Angeles Valley College and Cal State Northridge.
Over the years while on my quest to create, I have worked in many forms of art including Painting, Drawing, Three-Dimensional Art Collages, Sculpture, Woodworking, Welding, Ceramics and Glass. I have loved working in all these forms and each piece I create is a new experience that brings me great satisfaction when finished.
“Circles of Illumination” is a poem that one of my creations inspired me to write:
Circles of Illumination
Circles of my life
Gently moving, ever there
Changing, swirling in the air
Lights of glimmer
Lights of hope
Lighting the path of my existence
Blending the hues of ever-changing moments.
I am delighted to share my creations with you!
